GMA's

This past week I had the opportunity to attend GMA. That is the annual Gospel Music Association Convention in Nashville, TN (Nash Vegas).
I had been a while since I had been there. Seven years to be exact. A lot has changed in the citylike titian stadium and the hockey arena but GMA remained the same, People politikin'! I guess it is part of the game tho. Ya know?
Established artist making connections with radio, retailers, and industry professionals.
Indie Artist hustlin' to get put on, and rubbing shoulders with the gatekeepers of the industry.
I have attended as a signed artist, as and indie artist and now as a retailer. The only thing left to do is to go as a radio person. Maybe next year.
The showcases were hot! The Big 3 (Word, EMI, & Provident) luncheons were dope! They hooked us up with a lot of free stuff. I met some really cool people (Jodie, Erika & Jeff, Dannielle, and Mike Murray, Bruce). Oh, and I can't forget my man Daniel from Beatmart, Martha Munizzi, Natialie Grant, Rebecca St. James, Chris Rice, Christopher Martin (Play Of Kid N Play), George Huff (American Idol), Louie Giglio (Passion Conferences), Soul Plasma, T-Bone, Papa San, J-Moss, & 21:03 to name drop a few!
I ran into some old friends as well like Mr. Solo (Gospel Gangstaz), Mike E., DJ Maj, Urban D., Spec, Eddie Velez, KJ52, DJ Morphiziz, Bobby Bishop, Fatima (Image Magazine) just to name drop some more.
It was a cool time to get away, especially with all the drama going on in a brovas life recently, ya know?
But God is still good depite all that. He got me to and from Nashville safely, and I have my health, I can't ask for much more.
