I have never been to the Bahamas. Well, I can't say that anymore. We just got back from an island called Man O War Cay in the Abacos. It was like a throw back yo! I mean they had cable, telephones, and radio, but there were very few cars on the island if any. There is no booming night life, or any other noise. Just the sound of the ocean, and golf carts (The mode of transportation). The population of the island was somewhere around 300! Everybody knew eveybody. That is just wild being that I'm from Bomb Beach, Florida and all. As it turns out, it is the same island that Aaliyah filmed her last video "Rock The Boat"on. She flew into and out of the same airport we did. We even saw the stretch of beach that was used in the video. However dope it looks in the video (and Hype Williams made it look good) it just don't compare. We went there because my homie Angel was marrying Marsha (also a friend) who is from the island. At last a destination wedding! I feel like I should be on the travel channel now!
We stayed at this condo right on the beach. Literally, the ocean was less than 50 yards from the front door. Holla! 4 days of bliss yo. Sleeping in, eating conch, and hanging out with my best friend (the momma of my baby to be, my wife Pam), and a few of our friends (Berry, Julie, Ivan, Iris, & Elouisa) from Bible study who also came along. Did I mention that's how we know Angel & Marsha, from Bible study. If not, that is how we know Angel & Marsha. Anyways, the flight over was horrific. I don't like to fly anyways, but this flight was just really uncomfortable. Not too much turbulence, but
NO A/C!!!! Yo and it was madd hot up in dat piece kid. We made in there and back safely tho. If you ever get a chance to
go to Man O War, do it. It is a great place to unplug and just kick it. You will love it. The locals are cool too. That is probably the last little get-a-way we are gonna have before our son is born, so it is a good thing that is was so relaxing. So when October comes and our son is testing out his brand new set of lungs at 3am, I'll pull out my pics of Man O War, and say " No Problem"!
