Is it Fall Yet???

It has been since September that I last put down my ramblings. It is hard to believe that we are near the end of October. Pretty soon I'll be watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Where does the time go? A lot went down in October so I'll hit you with a few of the highlights.

Lets start with the music.

A while ago I submitted a song to the Beatlab for the Music Meets Truth Compilation. Well I made the cut to the top 50, then to the Top 25. It is wild because they have had madd submission. I find out if I made the cut on November 1st so I'll keep ya posted on what happens. I also found out about Godtube.com. I quickly uploaded my Audio Adrenaline video and I'm happy to say that it is almost at 400 plays! Godtube is basically the christian version of Youtube. I also had the opportunity to create a videomercial for the CD as well. You can see it here on the blog or on my website http://www.proverbnewsome.com/

Also in October I got to do a workshop at Urban Youth Worker Institute Regional Reload Conference. My workshop was entitled Understanding Hip-Hop To Reach A Hip-Hop Influenced Generation. It was hot being a speaker on a circuit like that. This is a dope organization if you have never heard of them check them out at http://www.uywi.org/ . There was a really good exchange of information between me and the attendees. I think we all walked away with a better understanding of where Hip-Hop came from and how it can be used as a vehicle to reach kids for Christ. Big ups to TC for putting me on! I also had the opportunity to make a promo video for the Common Man's Opus CD. You can see it on here on the blog too. It is just a simple tool to help me get the word out about the music. If you want to use it and embed it on your site that would help me too! So it's a promotional tool that helps you help me!

In other Newsome news, we took Micah to a pumpkin patch this past weekend. It was neat to kinda get out and let him walk and run around all these pumpkins! We took so many pics it was like it was his own photo shoot! His was a lil excited and kinda tossed up on one of the pumpkins, Pam managed to say with a straight face, "well we won't be buying that one"! LOL

He also is sayin Oh Oh a lot. I love doing the call/response with him. Pam is done with it after we go back and forth 10 or 20 times. Soon we'll being doing Marco? Polo! I can't wait!

I have realized that life is full of moments where I can feel God's presence, whether it is in the face of my son Micah, or the smile of my wife, or even in a pumpkin patch. It on me to recognize, embrace and enjoy the moment. If I don't then I have missed yet another opportunity to spend time with God! Don't miss the moment!
